The Universidad de los Andes hosted a seminar to discuss the effects of the Puebla-Morelos Earthquake (M=7.1) that struck Mexico on Tuesday, September 9, 2017. The talks were given by professors Rodrigo Astroza (Universidad de los Andes), Francisco Hernández (Universidad de Chile) , Felipe Ochoa-Cornejo (Universidad de Chile), and César Pastén (Universidad de Chile). The topics of the seminar included: seismological, geological, and geotechnical aspects, regional subsidence of Mexico City (CDMX), damage in the epicentral area, damage in CDMX, analysis of strong motion data, and the temporal evolution of the design codes in CDMX.
