The Chilean Association of Seismology and Eathquake Engineering (ACHISINA) organized a series of webinars about seismic wave propagation. Prof. Sergio Ruiz (Associate Professor of Seismology at Universidad de Chile), MSc Ruben Ramon (Structural Engineer at CODELCO), Eng. Fernando Moreira (MSc student at Universidad de Chile), and Prof. Rodrigo Astroza (Assistant Professor at Universidad de los Andes) discussed about the seismic waves identified from strong motions recorded during large earthquakes. Both seismological and structural aspects were discussed.

Professor Astroza talked about the propagation of seismic waves in buildings instrumented during earthquakes ocurred in California and explained the effects that those waves induce in the structural responses. More than 200 participants attended the webinar, including people from academia and industry from different Latin American countries.
